FREEFONE: I usually ignore stories about chain letter emails, wacky solicitations from dispossessed Nigerians and suchlike. But my wife received an interesting one the other day. Typical chain letter, please send it along to all your friends etc. Here's a translation:
Hi everybody! This is not a joke. Ericsson is giving away mobile phones -- completely free via the internet as part of a competitive fight with Nokia which is doing the same thing. Here's how to get a new WAP mobile phone. All you have to do is send this email to 8 people and within 2 weeks you'll receive an Ericsson T18. If you send it to 20 people, you receive the Ericsson R320 with WAP. Important: send a copy to this address: email@example.com. That's it! Try it and you'll see.
Is there anybody out there that doesn't yet recognize the key phrase, "this is not a joke", as a giveaway? Well, at least stuff like this is usually just passed around between kids, right?
My wife received the email from an acquaintance - a Prague judge. In the CC were 20 email addresses. Judge that.
