Been in lovely Ostrava for a few days on beeswax. Big, spread out place which made some kind of decision to concentrate literally the whole of the city's restaurant, club and nightlife onto nearly one street. It's true. Place is called Stodolni. There are at least 50 cafes, bars, pubs, lounges and grungy rock and roll joints crammed into a few blocks of one street and two or three of its tributaries. What's the unemployment rate of that region?

Names observed: Bernie's Irish Pub, The Dubliner, The Sherlock Holmes, The Havana, Flintstone's Pub, The Kongo, The Marina, The Sky Club, The Black Horse.

Otherwise the city is not much to look at, but the countryside is dynamite this time of year.
