Slovak is becoming a foreign language to Czechs:

"...Czech Television has - for the first time - dubbed a Slovak-produced serial for adults into Czech. But the dubbing of Zachranari (Mountain Rescuers) has met with a mixed reaction from Czechs, with some people saying it is completely unnecessary."

Readers of this blog know how I feel about dubbing in principle. Dubbing over Slovak seems like possibly a panic-induced measure, especially when you look at Czech TV's market share vs. trash vendor TV Nova. I don't know what it is of the top of my head, but it's real low.

Small mitigation - I just looked at the page for the above mentioned program and there's a note to the effect that viewers can choose to watch it in Slovak or dubbed into Czech.
