It's about 20C outside my apartment right now; a little earlier I was walking the dog and everyone around was wearing winter coats as if the temperature was a trick. I was the only one I could see without a coat. In the spring around here I have always noticed that people ease into lighter clothes slowly, reluctant to shed the moldy old winter layer. In the fall it's the opposite for some. And then there are always the real outliers - the odd person walking around in a heavy coat in a heatwave (does he know something I don't know?) or the ones, like the fellow I passed on the street late one night back in early February when it was about -15, who was wearing shorts and t-shirt.
